It's not a cure, but it's a GREAT long term temporary relief!
Though I gave Kiyah some fabulous features, I also gave her the terrible dry skin curse I have...ECZEMA!
Luckily, for both of us, we don't have too severe of a case. I am also not really one to drag her to the doctor for every tiny reason. If i can figure it out myself, I do.
Anyway..
She gets it on her little tooshy. I tried a few different remedies, and so far these three used TOGETHER have worked best for her.
Now obvi, I am NOT a doctor and this is just what has worked for MY child. So don't come back here complaining if it doesn't work for yours. (But please come back to read more of my blogs, just don't be a complainer because I probably won't respond.)
First, I used Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Soothing Bath Treatment, which in short is like an oatmeal bath. I ran her some warm bath water, poured the contents in right under the faucet, and let her soak in the "dirty" water for about 15 minutes. For this bath I do not use any soaps or any other product. It was simply for her to soak her bottom in the treatment.
Next I used St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Lotion on her entire body. I even put a thin layer on the area that we are treating. I only used a thin layer so that I could apply the next product.
Finally, I rubbed Aveeno Active Naturals 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream.
Literally by the 2nd day her eczema flare up was no longer inflamed, the scabs were gone, and all you can see are the shadows of where her flare up usually occurs. (I will be applying CoCo Butter to that, just to see if we can get the shadows away for an even color.)
